I'm a writing professional. Writing's what I do. I write nonfiction articles, humor, essays, plays, monologues, short stories, and humor pieces. I teach online writing classes for Story Circle Network and I've taught English as a Second Language to adult immigrants. I also write comedy sketches using improvisation. I'm self-employed, which means I spend a portion of my time looking for jobs and generating work for myself.
As an independent writing professional, I create compelling content that informs and educates. I craft clear, concise content on a variety of subjects, including aging, healthcare, wellness, safety, and corporate governance. I write feature articles, news articles, profiles, Web content, plays, monologues, humor, short fiction, and memoir. I won the 2017 Mona Schreiber Prize for Humorous Fiction and Nonfiction. I'm a lifetime member of The Dramatists Guild of America.
My first publication appeared in the Cleveland Plain Dealer on the twentieth anniversary of the Kent State University shootings. I wrote this Op-Ed piece while working as a fact-checker at Whittle Communications in Knoxville, Tennessee.
My portfolio includes more than 150 published articles. I've written for Live Well, NextAvenue.org, Corporate Secretary, GEICO Direct, Your AAA, Unique Opportunities: The Physician's Resource, POZ Latino, Family Safety & Health, Safedriver, Safeworker, Every Second Counts, Today's Supervisor, Disease Management, CATS Magazine, The International Centre for Women Playwrights, The Knoxville News-Sentinel, Practice Link, and The Alzheimer's Association.
